Hate is not the opposite of Love. The opposite is Pride. It is pride that separates man from God. Pride is a disease that is difficult to cure. Only a great Love can cure any amount of pride after a great fall. When a man fell he felt the pain and pain is a wake up call to the inner man. When the inner man awakens it battles the ego - the seat of pride. When ego cannot procure happiness to the inner man it destroys itself and the inner man is liberated.
